Israel’s Global Journey: History, Politics, and Identity

An Adult Education Experience

January-June 2026

Is there a way to make sense of Israel’s story? While there is no simple answer to this perplexing question, it's certainly worth asking during these troubled times.

If you’re struggling with this or are just curious abut the topic, we invite you to embark upon a complex and emotional journey in an online adult education offering where we’ll explore the amazing account of Israel’s existence against the backdrop of global affairs from 1831 (predating the modern state) to the present. More than a history or political science course, we’ll not just learn but actually experience the stories, decisions, triumphs, and tragedies that have shaped what has become and is now recognized as the State of Israel. In the process, we’ll also explore over 80 countries and several empires, most of which are familiar, and some, perhaps not.

While this course won't make you an expert on Israel or the Middle East, it will give you the tools to analyze this complex region to allow you to form your own opinions and draw your own conclusions.

Testimonials from former students (under different brand):

This was the best class I have had in my life, including four years at Dartmouth and three at Stanford Law School, not to mention three at Fairfax High School in Los Angeles. You may quote me.
Robert Dresser, Former Sacramento JCRC Chair

That was an amazing class!  Of course, I was in tears more than once.
No one wanted to leave!
